SPEECH #3

Problem/Solution 100 points

This speech should include everything you have learned in the class, thus far, with additional persuasive tactics.  You will pick a topic on which to persuade your audience using each method of persuasion, advocating for or against a change in legal policy.  If you advocate a change, you should be able to clearly document the existence of some sort of problem and then explain specifically what course of action is necessary to solve that problem.  For this speech, assume you are speaking to a logical, unbiased audience.  You should relate the importance of the topic to your audience and use effective use of ethos, logos and pathos.  The emphasis of this speech is on sound, solid support for your points.  Your topic for this speech should be timely, significant, and controversial.  Ideally, you should select a topic you feel strongly about and one on which you can realistically expect to influence your audience using the problem-solution format.   Only one speech on a specific problem will be allow (unless offering opposite views) so early selection and approval will allow time for necessary research and reading.  Due to the emotional issues, abortion (for or against) will not be accepted as a topic.
